SUPERFAST FERRIES AND BLUE STAR FERRIES FIRST GREEK PASSENGER FERRY COMPANIES TO RECEIVE ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION

Ohe Board of Directors of Attica Enterprises S.A is pleased to announce the certification of Superfast Ferries and Blue Star Ferries as per ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Specifically, the Group’s ship management companies, Superfast Ferries and Blue Star Ferries, as well as the vessels Superfast I, Superfast II, Superfast V, Superfast VI, Superfast VII, Superfast VIII, Superfast IX, Superfast X, Blue Star 1, Blue Star 2, Alue Star Ithaki, Blue Sky and Blue Horizon were certified as per ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Auditing and certification were carried out by ABS Quality Evaluations, a member of the international American Bureau of Shipping group.

The Company’s Board of Directors is especially sensitive to environmental issues and is committed to a policy of protecting the natural environment. All the necessary measures are taken to ensure that the operation of the vessels of the Group is environmentally friendly and complies with environmental regulations. The vessels of the Group conform to high international standards of environmental protection under the International Convention on Marine Pollution (Marpol), as established by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

Moreover, the Group’s shipmanagement company, Superfast Ferries S.A., as well as all its ships, are certified under the International Safety Management Code (ISM), related to the provisions of SOLAS for the protection of human life at sea, and for the quality assurance procedures of ISO 9001:2000. Auditing and certification of both systems were carried out by ABS Quality Evaluations. Similarly, the ships of Blue Star Ferries S.A. are certified under the ISM code and as per ISO 9001:2000 by ABS Quality Evaluations.
